“Writing from the hearts of ordinary folk is my jam”Leanne Ortiz
Raised in the country by parents who adored Dixieland jazz, football and cricket it’s no surprise my great loves in life are music and sport.
I have a Diploma in Freelance Journalism and will soon complete a BA in professional writing and publishing with Curtin University.
I love to write the stories of musicians, and ordinary folk.
When my son began busking, it sparked a curiosity in me to film and interview street performers. Those interesting and talented characters perched on street corners, under tents at country markets and hidden in subway tunnels.
This led to my new blog titled Busker What’s Your Story?
I’m also a feature writer. You’ll find samples inside, including articles on musicians, sportspeople, a personal essay and writing humour.
